Announcing Challenge #2 of InfoBonaire.com’s 2013
“So You Think You Know Bonaire”
(DiverWire) In January, InfoBonaire.com announced the first Challenge of 2013. This was a truly difficult puzzle, because out of all the entries, not one correct answer was received! The first Challenge is now closed, and the answer can be discovered at http://www.infobonaire.com/challenge2013_1_answer.html.
Challenge #2 is now open and ready for entries. Those who know Bonaire will want to view the puzzle at Bonaire Challenge #2 and enter to win a $50.00 gift certificate toward a vehicle rental with Fox Car Rental Bonaire, which will be valid through December 31, 2014.
Those who recognize the image displayed should enter to win as quickly as possible, since the first correct and complete entrant will be declared the winner.

Think Warm Thoughts…
How about that cold weather? Thank goodness for long-johns. I don’t know about you, but this week had me thinking about tropical beaches, warm sunshine, colorful fish, warm salty water, and lots and lots of bubble blowing. Which is what folks on Juliet are enjoying right about now in Turks and Caicos. There’s a rumor that the whales have arrived in theislands and divers are being lulled into a state of utter bliss by whale songs as they dive along the bottomless walls with spotted eagle rays, sharks, groupers, turtles. Ok, that definitely can warm you up. Are you ready to be in the tropics yet? Is it summer already?
Juliet Sailing & Diving offers customized week-long live aboard diving itineraries on board a majestic 104’ schooner. Join us as we sail and dive the crystal clear, turquoise waters of the Bahamas in the spring, summer, and fall, the wreck-strewn waters of the Florida Keys, and come with us each winter to explore the beauty and romance of the Virgin Islands and the gorgeous walls of the Turks and Caicos.
It might not be summer just yet, but Juliet has some pretty exciting “last-minute” availability for this summer – yes THIS summer, 2013! – that you can jump on if you haven’t already planned your summer vacation. These last-minute opportunities are available because even though they usually fill up summer months almost a year in advance, but a couple charter cancellations has 2 weeks of open spots in the middle of July! Already 6 of those spots have been gobbled up but there are still plenty to go around. July is a great time to head to the Bahamas – beautiful weather, calm seas, water temps in the mid-80s. Last July the cruise made it down to the pristine reefs of the Santaren Channel every week!
Below is the Summer and Fall availability – let us know if you are interested
July 13-19 – Miami to Bahamas – 6 spots (Half charter rate available – ask for details!)
July 20-26 – Miami to Bahamas – 12 spots
Aug 3-9 – Bahamas – 1 spot left!
Sept 21-27 – Florida Keys – 1 spot left!
Oct 19-25 – Bahamas – 6 spots

Bonaire captures many top honors (again) in Scuba Diving magazine survey
By DiverWire Staff posted January 17, 2013
(DiverWire) The Caribbean island of Bonaire has once again swept top honors receiving seventeen different awards in Scuba Diving Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards, more than any other destination in the region, including five #1 ratings, proving the island’s dominance as the premiere dive destination in the Caribbean and around the world. For the twentieth consecutive year, Bonaire has taken first place for the #1 Shore Diving Destination.
In the Caribbean/Atlantic region, the #1 rankings received by Bonaire include Best Macro Diving, Best Advanced Diving, Best Beginner Diving, Best Shore Diving, and Best Underwater Photography. The #2 rankings include Best Overall Diving, Best Value of Diving Dollar, and Best Marine Environment.
In addition to its high rankings, the island also was awarded nine slots out of 100 in the Top 100 Gold List, as voted upon by readers of Scuba Diving magazine. “These honors once again reflect how Bonaire’s visitors feel about the destination and what they experience while they are here. It is a world-class dive destination in their books, and their voting for Bonaire in so many of the categories and to such high degrees indicates the loyalty of the Bonaire diver,” commented Anja Romeijnders, President of Tourism Corporation Bonaire. “Bonaire promises to continue its unwavering commitment to preserve its reef habitat and to provide divers with a first class dive experience as well as added value whenever they come to visit,” Mrs. Romeijnders continued.
Located eighty-six miles east of Aruba, the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire offers year-round sunshine, low annual rainfall, pristine coral formations and the most abundant fish population in the Caribbean. World renowned for scuba diving and snorkeling, it is also ideal for adventurers and explorers as it offers a myriad of eco-adventure activities from sea and mangrove kayaking to windsurfing or kite boarding and more. For those who want to kick back and relax, not having traffic lights on the island makes it easy to stroll into town or hop on a scooter or bike to peruse the island at their own pace. Accommodations range from full-service oceanfront resorts and condominiums to intimate guesthouses, small inns and private villas.
